ARTIST BIO

My Story

I am an artist with a serious case of wanderlust. I love to travel and my paintings are inspired by the people and places I love. In painting I get to relive experiences and share those moments with others. I use bright colors and bold brushstrokes to convey emotion in my paintings.  My favorite color to paint with is quinacridone magenta.

As a Toronto based artist until 2022, I was a member of the North Toronto Group of Artists exhibited throughout Toronto including at Arta Gallery, Twist Gallery, Leslie Grove Gallery, Blue Crow Gallery, and in juried shows with the Society of Canadian Artists and the Ontario Society of Artists. I had my first solo show at the Niagara Pumphouse Gallery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario in September 2021.

I recently moved back to the Washington DC Area and am a member of Chevy Chase Artists (Ch/Art) and the Montgomery Arts Association. My work can be seen at galleries throughout the DMV including at Calloway Fine Art in Georgetown, Jo Fleming Contemporary Art in Annapolis, the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria and at the Waverly Street Gallery in Bethesda.

I studied art at the University of Wisconsin.  I took a several year hiatus from painting to work as a women's health advocate and lawyer.  I am thrilled to be painting again!  For more about my process, you can read my recent interview in Canvas Rebel.
